CRISTINA “La Pirata” ZUBIETA

Cristina Zubieta has been trained in classical ballet for 15 years at Phoenix School of Ballet and Ballet Arizona. During her time there, she also studied character (Eastern European folk dance), jazz and modern dance. Her extended ballet training abroad allowed her to study and experience several styles of movement and approaches to dancing ranging in the disciplines of Vagonova and Royale to Cecchetti. She studied Irish dance with the McTeggart School of Irish Dance for six years and grew up performing native Filipino and Hawaiian dances at cultural events in Arizona. Because of  her previous dance training, and dedication and commitment to the art of Flamenco, Cristina was invited to perform with Un Corazón Flamenco within her first year of studying Flamenco!
