Beginning Flamenco 1 Workshop

Suitable for students that have completed the Intro to Flamenco Series. This Workshop will cover Level 1 Footwork, Rumba Flamenca review and introduction to Tangos.

Sevillanas

A Spanish folk dance from Andalucia that has crossed over into Flamenco. Castanets will also be learned,.

Flamenco II-III
Ages 13+
7:00 -7:50 pm
Intermediate-Advanced level class. Students will learn techniques to gain strength in movement and armwork, to develop clean, fast footwork and to construct and deconstruct choreographies and adapt them to various rhythms to gain confidence in improvisation. Class will have live guitar accompaniment. Level 2 footwork pattern at a fast pace will be used for footwork warm-up, and Level 3 footwork pattern will be reviewed.

Juerga !! (All Levels)
8:00 – 9:00 pm
Review your choreographies and learn how to communicate with live guitar. The setting will be a juerga, so feel free to bring some refreshments for you and to share!! Class has live guitar accompaniment. Level I-II students will participate by learning to accompany dancers through palmas and cajon. Level II-III students will participate by learning to take pre-learned choreographies and adapting them to work improvisationally with live guitar. Guitar students have an opportunity to learn

Suitable for students that have completed the Intro to Flamenco Series. This Workshop will review Level 1 Footwork, Rumba Flamenca, Tangos and Introduce students to Alegrias.

Flamenco Technique
Ages 13+

Students will be given armwork, footwork and movement exercises that will help improve the quality of their footwork: clarity of sound, speed control and endurance as well as refinement of movement.
